Summary:

Provides or oversees the basic tasks of daily living for program recipients who are temporarily removed from their bio home or foster home and are awaiting new placement. Carries out a range of activities with recipients that contributes to the achievement of recipient's overall service plan goals and well-being in a home or community environment including teaching and practicing a variety of social/interpersonal skills, self-esteem, daily living skills and recreational/leisure time skills.

 

Qualifications:

High school degree/(GED) required; two years related experience/ training or relevant college course work preferred.  Lived experience with behavioral health issues is desired.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND INSURANCES

Mandt, C.P.R., first aid certification or the ability to become certified/trained.

Acceptable driving record in compliance with agency procedure.

Must possess a valid Michigan Driver License, use of a personal vehicle for transportation with automobile insurance which designates the employee as an insured driver. May utilize Agency vehicles if available.

 

SCHEDULE

Shelter Care is a 24x7 program.  Schedule varies but includes: days (7am 3pm) and afternoons (3pm 11pm), Sunday through Saturday.
