This position provides direct service to clients, interacts with clients, adoptive families, foster parents, and foster children.  Partners with case management and is involved in the assessment of the adoptive family setting, court appearances, report writing and provision of services to provide a team approach. Flexible schedule including evening hours. This position reports to the Adoption Supervisor.


Bachelor degree in Human Services field required, Master degree preferred.  Foster Care or Adoption experience helpful.  Educational background which complies with State of Michigan Adoption licensing requirements. DHS Child Welfare Institute training desired.  Valid Michigan driver's license and driving record which complies with agency policy.  Ability to implement physical assistance/intervention as warranted.  Ability to regularly provide out-of-office service in clients' homes and/or community settings in non-structured unpredictable situations.  Experience working with diverse economic and cultural populations.  Own transportation required.
